Position: Business (Sales) Manager

Purpose: The role of Business Manager is critical to delivering the long-term strategy of NFU Mutual – to build sustainable & profitable growth, to be a great company to do business with and to be a great place to work. The role will play an integral role in enabling the smooth and efficient operation of the agency by providing team leadership that drives performance and ensures compliance with training and competence standards that will support the delivery of sales targets and industry leading levels of customer retention.
Accountabilities
- Lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports across the sales team, so that they know what is expected of them, are enabled to maximise their performance and contribution to business objectives by realising their potential and the delivery of business goals.
- To support delivery of commercial and High Net Worth sales by overseeing prospecting activities that will build the sales pipeline.
- Working along side the Compliance Manager, ensuring that team members are trained and deliver against NFU Mutual and regulatory training and competence standards in a compliant manner, monitoring performance on an ongoing basis to ensure sales and service standards are maintained across the agency.
- Lead the co-ordination and supervision of the Sales Team to ensure the consistent delivery of industry leading levels of customer service that is compliant with NFU Mutual and agency standards.
- Plan, lead, delegate and deliver strategically aligned sales and marketing initiatives, including any central campaigns, across all business areas to build a pipeline of opportunities.
- Support the sales team to generate Life and Risk Management leads from existing and new customers to meet relevant targets, maximise cross-selling opportunities whilst reinforcing the relationship with NFU Mutual and enhancing the customer service offering; deliver and contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Agency including the management of Microsoft Dynamics and the use of CRM and Power BI to manage team targets and objectives.

- Selling: No regulated advice given on cover for unlicensed General Insurance products.
- Selling: No regulated advice given on Financial Services products.
- Claims Handling: No advice given on policy cover under claims for unlicensed General Insurance products.
- Processing: Billing Center authority as per online Process Manual.
Person Specification, Skills and Experience
- To have a track record of managing teams within the financial services environment.
- To have demonstrable experience of coaching individuals to meet standards required.
- An ability to build relationships across teams and effectively communicate across the business hierarchy.
- To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate attributes of honesty, integrity, due skill, care and diligence at all times.
- An experience of working independently to solve problems and use judgement.
- Experience of providing excellent customer services.
- To have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and packages.
