About our new service

Its is a specialist supported living service based in Hillingdon, London, providing high-quality, person-centred support for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex mental health needs.

Our aim is to create a safe, structured and supportive environment where the people we support can develop independence, build life skills, and live fulfilling lives with dignity and respect.

The service supports individuals with complex and high-support needs, working closely with commissioners and clinical professionals to deliver sustainable, high-quality placements.

We are committed to supporting individuals with complex needs to transition successfully from hospital, assessment and treatment units (ATUs), and other specialist placements into stable community living environments. We work closely with commissioners, clinical professionals and multidisciplinary teams to develop robust support packages that promote long‑term stability, independence and improved quality of life.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting complex or high-support placements within supported living or specialist residential services.

We are now seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead and develop the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality support.

The Role

As Team Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will lead and develop a skilled team, implement person-centred support practices, and work closely with families, commissioners and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to shape and develop a specialist supported living service.

The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to progress into the Registered Manager role, subject to experience and CQC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and day-to-day management of the service
  • Ensure the service operates in line with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, and best practice guidance
  • Lead the development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
  • Oversee recruitment, supervision and development of the support team
  • Ensure person-centred support plans are implemented and regularly reviewed
  • Build strong working relationships with local authorities, ICBs, commissioners and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Contribute to the development of specialist placements and support packages in collaboration with commissioning teams
  • Monitor service quality, performance and outcomes
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas and operational resources effectively
  • Support the presentation of the service model and care approach to external stakeholders and commissioning professionals where required
  • Promote a positive culture of learning, teamwork and continuous improvement

About You

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about supporting individuals with complex needs and leading high-quality services.

You will have:

  • Significant experience (typically 8+ years) working in health and social care, including supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities and/or complex mental health needs
  • Previous experience as a deputy manager or registered manager role within a supported living or residential service
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding and person-centred care
  • Experience developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches, including strategies that reduce behaviours of distress and improve quality of life
  • Experience supporting individuals to develop independence, communication skills and meaningful daily living outcomes
  • Experience working collaboratively with commissioners, funding panels, or multidisciplinary teams to support complex care packages
  • A strong commitment to inclusive communication, with experience using or overseeing augmentative communication approaches
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
  • Training or qualifications in Positive Behaviour Support, Autism, Learning Disabilities or Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Training in communication approaches such as Makaton, Singalong or similar
  • Experience working with complex or high-support placements
  • Experience supporting individuals transitioning from hospital, forensic or specialist placements
  • Experience working alongside clinical professionals such as psychologists, behaviour specialists or therapists
