The Role

Tosupportthedevelopmentanddeliveryof analyticson behalf ofteams acrossHSBC Innovation Banking. Specifically, theyare responsible foractioning assigned items from theAnalytics backlog, agreeingrequirementswith stakeholders,analysingsolution options,developingsolutionsoroverseeing deliveryfrom service providers.

Responsibilities

Work withstakeholdersacross HSBC Innovation Banking (will vary for each use case as we support teams across HSBC Innovation Banking )to develop actionabledata requirementsto meet their businessneedsfor new or enhanced analytics.

Locateandanalysedata from relevant HSBC systems andexternaldatasourcesto confirm its suitability.

Design,developand testreporting applications(e.g.reports, dashboards).

Conductand documentanalysis to detect trends anddataanomalies.

Identifyremedial actions(e.g.report changes, data quality issuesto fix)or escalate detections which givecause forconcern.

Share information with stakeholders in suitable forms; thesewillinclude:requirementsdocuments, report specifications/design,reports(inc. visual analytics)and commentary.

Participate in forums,meetingsor events to interpret data and support decision making

Requirements/Skills

Advanced Excel skillsto perform data analysis and build clear, accurate visualisations (e.g. pivot tables, Power Query, dashboards).

Hands-on experience with modern analytics toolssuch asLookerandAlteryx(or equivalent) to

create scalable reporting and repeatable analytical workflows.

Strong knowledge of data models and data dictionarieswithin aBanking and Financial Marketscontext, with the ability to interpret and apply standard definitions correctly.

Technically capable of validating and analysing data, identifying data quality issues, and translating requirements intoclear user storiesfor Data Engineers (including acceptance criteria and key data definitions).

Proven track record of developing and delivering analyticsthat drive measurable business outcomes and support decision-making.

Relevant banking experience and domain knowledge, including products, key processes, and regulatory considerations.

Where you’ll be based:Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
