Emergency Breakdown Customer Service Advisor
£13.00 per hour – Derbyshire, DE55 7RH. Do you have control room experience and want a role where you can stay calm, take charge, and support people in urgent situations? At Richford Motor Services, you will join our 24‑hour Breakdown Recovery Centre as an Emergency Breakdown Customer Service Advisor, with full training and support from day one. This is not a typical call centre role. Every call is different, and you are the one leading it. You will be the first person someone speaks to when they are stuck at the roadside. You will quickly understand what has happened, keep them calm, and make sure the right help is on the way without delay. Your 4 on, 4 off shift pattern means you can properly plan your life, with built‑in time off every week rather than waiting for weekends or annual leave.
Responsibilities
- Take incoming calls and take control of breakdown situations from the start.
- Keep customers calm and focused by giving clear, simple guidance.
- Ask the right questions to get to the issue quickly.
- Make decisions on the best response so support is sent fast.
- Update systems in real time so nothing is missed.
- Work with recovery partners to get customers back on the road.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a Control Room Operator is essential.
- You communicate clearly and stay in control of conversations.
- You pick up important details quickly and stay accurate.
- You stay calm when situations become urgent.
- You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- You can use multiple systems at the same time.
