Role Overview

We are seeking an experiencedSenior or Managing Quantity Surveyorto support the commercial delivery of a majorenergy infrastructure projectin Edinburgh.

This role will focus on ensuring robustcommercial management, contract compliance, and financial controlacross the project lifecycle. The project is administered underFIDIC terms and conditions, making prior FIDIC experience essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead thecommercial managementof a large-scale energy project
  • Administer and manageFIDIC contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Managesubcontractor procurement, including tendering and contract preparation
  • Overseesubcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts
  • Prepare and maintainproject budgets, forecasts, and cost/value reconciliations
  • Deliver accuratecost reporting and financial projections
  • Work closely withProject and Site Managersto optimise commercial performance
  • Identify and managecommercial risks and opportunities
  • Support dispute resolution and contractual negotiations where required

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience atSenior or Managing Quantity Surveyor level
  • Strong working knowledge ofFIDIC contracts(essential)
  • Demonstrable experience within theenergy sector, ideally including:
    • High Voltage (HV) works
    • Substation projects
  • Minimum5+ years post-qualification experiencein construction, civil engineering, or electrical infrastructure
  • Degree qualified inQuantity Surveyingor similar
  • Strongcommercial acumen and contract management skills
  • Excellentcommunication, negotiation, and stakeholder managementabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Desirable

  • Chartered status (e.g.RICS)
  • Experience withinutilities / electrical infrastructure / renewablesenvironments
