Job OverviewTo protect the port facilities restricted areas in compliance with the ISPS code. To protect our customer’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) Gate house duties including operating gates and barriers to allow access/egress.Searching of persons, of same sex, vehicles and plant machinery as requiredPass issuing/checkingPatrolling the restricted areas as required by the supervisory team. Completing paperwork as requiredResponding to incidents as directed by the supervisory and management team. Ensuring the port is always secureFull training in the role will be providedEnsuring the site is protected at all timesAnd ensuring we give good customer service at all timesOther duties as required. What we are looking for:We are looking for someone who has the ability to communicate with people at all levels, including outside agencies and Authorities. Act as an ambassador for Mitie and the ClientSmart in AppearanceHave good verbal and communication skillsCan write reports clearly and conciselyHas the ability to work on their own and within a team Possesses basic computer skillsLook out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on siteTo maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.Ensure that the port is protected at all timesBe vigilant and observantAble to work 12hr shifts working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which includes, days, Nights, Weekends etc Training Full training to undertake your role will be provided. Additional training is available for other site-specific roles.We also offer the opportunity to enhance your skill set by completing an Apprenticeship in security.
