Senior Scientist – Biologics Technical Transfer & Development Support
Location: Wrexham
Role Summary
In this role, you will support the technical transfer, development readiness, and lifecycle understanding of biologics drug substance manufacturing processes within Biologics Pharmaceutical Development. You will work at the intersection of development, manufacturing, quality, and external CDMOs to ensure robust transfer packages, strong scientific understanding, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Prepare, review, and compile documentation required for technical transfer of development processes, including process descriptions and development reports.
- Coordinate technical activities between development, manufacturing, and quality teams, ensuring smooth and compliant information flow.
- Support development manufacturing campaigns and assist with investigations through data review and scientific analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and strengthen knowledge capture across development activities.
- Support the development and application of data analysis, modelling, and visualisation tools to enhance process understanding and reporting.
- Contribute to Operational Excellence and Sustainability by Design initiatives, including process efficiency, resource utilisation, and waste reduction.
Requirements (Essential)What you bring
- Experience contributing to technical transfer of biologics processes into manufacturing or CDMOs, including review or preparation of technical documentation.
- Knowledge of biologics drug substance development or manufacturing (USP/DSP) and how development data supports manufacturing readiness.
- Ability to analyse process, experimental, or manufacturing data to support investigations and technical decisions.
- Experience generating technical documentation such as development reports, process descriptions, or transfer packages.
- Experience working within GxP regulated environments, with understanding of quality systems and data integrity.
- Strong cross functional communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with scientific and operational teams.
- Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred (Desirable)
- Experience with data analysis or statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Python, R, advanced Excel).
- Exposure to Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, or sustainability principles in process development.
- Familiarity with digital tools, coding, or AI assisted approaches for modelling or workflow optimization. xwzovoh
