Asanestablishedandgrowingcompany,wearecurrentlyseekinganexperiencedprofessionalwithmorethansevenyearsofrelevanthealthandsafetyexpertisetoserveasaConsultantandProjectManager.Thisroleoffersaflexiblehybridscheduledeterminedbycurrentprojectassignments.Colden’sManchesterofficeislocatedinthebeautifullyrestoredWaumbecMill,withMerrimackRiverviewsandanon-sitecafé.
ThesuccessfulcandidatewillworkwithateamofCIHs,CSPs,seniorscientists,andhealthandsafetyspecialiststoprovideoccupationalhealthandsafetyconsultingservicestoanestablishedclientbaseinadiversemixofindustries.
Responsibilitiesmayinclude:
- Manageprojectsfrominceptiontocompletionincludingpreparingaproposal,projectbudget,deliverables,andmilestonesinrelationtoclientexpectations.
- Developwrittenhealthandsafetyprograms,trainingmaterials,anddeliverin-persontraining.
- ResearchanddemonstrateanunderstandingofEHSstandardsandguidelines(e.g.,OSHA,ACGIH,ANSI,NFPA).
- Interactwithclientmanagement,technicalpersonnel,andproductionworkers.
- Conductindustrialhygienesurveytoassesschemical,physicalandbiologicalagents(e.g.,airandsurfacesampling,noisemonitoring,etc.).
- Performhealthandsafetyassessments,inspections,orauditsinvariousclientindustrialandnon-industrialsettings,suchasmanufacturingsites,laboratories,universities,hospitals,museums,mediaandentertainmentproductions,offices,andotherworkenvironments.ExerciseaworkingknowledgeofcommonOSHAcomplianceprogramelements(e.g.,hazardcommunication,respiratoryprotection,noise,PPE,lockout/tagout,confinedspaceentry,fallprotection).
- Conductindoorair/environmentalqualityandmicrobialinvestigations.
- Preparewrittenreportssummarizingsitevisitobservationsandresults.Developrecommendedcorrectiveactionsinaccordancewithresults.
Qualifications
Theidealcandidatewillpossessaproventrackrecordinoccupationalhealthandsafetyconsultinganddemonstratetheabilitytoleadcomplexprojectswithminimaloversight,allwhilefosteringstrongclientrelationshipsandmentoringjuniorstaff.
Required:
- Bachelor’sdegree(BS),preferablyinindustrialhygiene,occupationalsafety,orenvironmentalhealth(orascienceorengineeringdegreeandrelevantworkexperience).
- CIHorCSPcertificationoreligibletositforcertificationexamwithinoneyear.
- Experiencerange:7+years.Experienceincommonindustrialhygienemonitoringmethodsandnoisedosimetry.
- Workingknowledgeofhealthandsafetyregulations,standards,andguidelines.
- Attentiontodetailandstrongtechnicalwritingskills.Theidealcandidatewillbeadeptatpreparingconcise,thoroughreportsandclientcommunications,ensuringalldocumentationmeetsthehighestprofessionalstandards.
- Abilityandwillingnesstotravellocallyandnationallyareessential,withfluctuatinglevelsoftravelbasedonprojectassignment.
DesiredQualifications
- Projectmanagementexperience.
- MSdegreeinindustrialhygiene,occupationalsafetyandhealth,orenvironmentalhealthscience.
- Previoushealthandsafetyconsultingexperience.
