What you will be doing
Providing financial control / commercial support across the accounting function. Overseeing a medium sized team hugely involved in significant financial process improvement, systems upgrades and responsible for transformation of the accounting function and business while overseeing all aspects of financial management and control.
- To lead, coach and develop a team of qualified and part qualified financial professionals and associated support functions, to enhance the team’s execution and delivery of their responsibilities. Creating an environment of high energy, performance excellence and which contributes to employee engagement.
- Responsible for all aspects of the team’s activities (balance sheet, P&Ls, cash flow) overseeing the timely and accurate delivery each month of the company’s financial results, filing and reporting insight which support decision making in respect of revenue/margin and cost forecasting.
- Responsible for tracking and appraising the company’s financial status, preparing analytics, periodic performance reporting for Senior stakeholders/Board. Analysing and identify areas for improvement, formulating business proposals and presenting solutions to minimising potential commercial risk to the business.
- To build strong relationships across key business stakeholders to influence and develop financial awareness, assist with the translation of high-level business plans to detailed financial and commercially sound proposals which support the achievement of the Company’s MTP.
- To ensure consistent application of statutory regulatory compliance and audited control (IFRS/SOX), monitor regulatory changes and in conjunction with Group establish financial policies and procedures for the company. To pro-actively respond to requests in relation to SOX testing and audit queries, in order to meet Group SOX testing deadlines and to achieve a clean audit report.
- To support the financial leadership in the development of a credible and trusted finance function who provide commercial value, to inspire and motivate a team and enhance business relationship driving collaboration across departments to maximize partnership and engagement.
You will ideally have
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), educated to degree level
- Proven commercial finance or regulatory finance experience within an IT and Professional Services / Consultancy Sectors within a comparable size organisation
- Experience of managing a high-performance finance function
- Comfortable with working in a challenging environment and influencing senior level leaders.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting, budgeting and forecasting process
- Strong commercial thought and foresight
- Preferred experience of successful finance transformation assignment
- Demonstrable ability to analyse and validate financial and performance data
- Comfortable communicating performance and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to apply persuasive influence with key stakeholders
- An adaptable to work in a growth and evolving environment
- Excellent presentation skills – able to translate complex data for non-finance audience
