TC Group, a fast‑growing accountancy firm, is seeking an experienced audit and accounts professional for a new role in Maidenhead, focusing on small/medium limited companies, audits, sole traders and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • All aspects of audit, accounts, and taxation work for small/medium companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • Assist directors with client meetings and address client queries on accounting, payroll and taxation matters.
  • Onboard new clients, register with HMRC for relevant taxes and advise on bookkeeping requirements.
  • Prepare year‑end accounts, corporation tax computations and management accounts.
  • Prepare larger year‑end accounts and manage corporation tax computations and management accounts.
  • Review VAT returns and bookkeeping.
  • Assist senior staff on audit assignments such as testing and analysis.
  • Direct client communication to raise and resolve queries.
  • Maintain close contact with clients throughout engagements to ensure good relations and effective completion of work, especially for recurring assignments.

About You

  • At least 2 years of general practice experience, competent in bookkeeping, VAT, accounts preparation and some taxation work for small/medium companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • AAT qualified or progressing through ACCA/ACA exams.
  • General tax knowledge, especially VAT.
  • Knowledge of CCH Accounts Preparation/Audit Automation, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero advantages.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Professional sense, good communication and written skills, ability to develop client relationships.
  • Hands‑on approach, enthusiasm for development.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must have a driving licence and own a car.
