About the Role

You will not be administering medication or delivering clinical care.

What You’ll Be DoingWellbeing & Companionship

  • Provide meaningful companionship and conversation
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance
  • Carry out welfare check-ins
  • Help clients build routine, structure, and motivation

Practical Daily Support

  • Light domestic support (tidying, organisation)
  • Assist with meal preparation (no feeding required)
  • Support with shopping and essential errands
  • Help maintain a structured and comfortable home environment

Community & Escort Support

  • Escort clients to appointments and social outings
  • Support access to community activities and events
  • Provide transport accompaniment (non-driving role)
  • Encourage engagement in faith, cultural, and social activities

Hospital Discharge & Transition Support

  • Support clients returning home after hospital stays
  • Provide settling-in assistance
  • Assist with practical home setup and routines
  • Coordinate with families to ensure smooth transitions

Advocacy & Coordination

  • Help manage and organise appointments
  • Provide light administrative support
  • Signpost clients to relevant community and statutory services
  • Maintain communication with families and support networks

Experience in care or support work is a bonus — but not essential.

What This Role Is NOT

  • No medication administration
  • No clinical or nursing duties
  • No heavy personal care

Salary

£12.71 – £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
