Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water

Location: Beckton, East London (Flexible Hybrid)

Work Type: Contract

Join a leading UK infrastructure and water-sector delivery partner within their Commercial team. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in major projects while leading commercial management, cost control, and contractual oversight across assigned works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage quantity surveying duties across projects and work packages.
  • Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and manage costs.
  • Work collaboratively with the client to ensure commercial and project requirements are met.
  • Oversee the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified and issued correctly.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
  • Support in managing and monitoring subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare and agree applications for payment.
  • Produce accurate project cost and value reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Assist in developing and mentoring junior commercial team members.
  • Maintain continuous professional development through industry networking and awareness of sector innovation.
  • Foster a positive, solution-focused working environment and provide constructive feedback.
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably required and consistent with the seniority of the post.
  • Present a professional and positive image in all internal and external interactions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor role within construction, infrastructure, water, or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and commercial processes.
  • Ability to analyse data, manage costs, and deliver accurate reporting.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder and supply-chain management skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement.
