Our client one of the regions leading Groundworks subcontractors, due to continued growth & development they are now actively looking to bolster there team with the addition of a new Contracts Manager.

About the RoleExperienced and driven Groundworks Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects simultaneously
  • Lead project teams, including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and senior management to provide regular updates
  • Review and negotiate contracts, variations, and procurement schedules
  • Drive quality assurance and ensure all works meet required specifications
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks or civil engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure works
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or major developers
  • Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
