Process/Senior Process Instrument Design Engineer- Nuclear (Contract) Warrington (Hybrid – 3 days on site) 46-51/hour (Inside IR35) | Up to 56/hour for Senior Candidates 37 hours over 4 days per week
We’re supporting a key nuclear programme and are looking for a Process Instrument Design Engineer to join the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects E&I design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile, safety-critical projects where your expertise will directly contribute to complex engineering solutions.
The Role You’ll be responsible for delivering and checking high-quality design packages, ensuring they meet safety, functional, and business requirements across the project lifecycle. You will:
- Deliver process instrumentation design from concept through to handover
- Support and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Review and check design documentation
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning activities
- Mentor and support early career engineers
Essential Requirements
- HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Incorporated Engineer (or working towards)
- Active SC Clearance
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Process Instrument Design Engineer on multidisciplinary projects
- Strong understanding of engineering standards
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Experience supporting both construction and commissioning phases
Desirable Experience
- 5+ years in Instrument & Safety Design Engineering
- Experience across nuclear or similarly regulated environments (nuclear experience is essential overall)
- Knowledge of:
- Process Instrumentation
- Radiometric & Special Instruments
- Safety Systems
- Familiarity with site-specific engineering standards
