The role will have day-to-day responsibility for the Regional Centres Incident Control and Business Continuity readiness in line with departmental standards., As our Incident Control and Business Continuity Manger you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- All aspects of fire safety elements of the Incident Control role including development of the incident marshal role
- To act as lead during an emergency situation and take charge of incident, make decisions and have instructions followed to ensure the safety of the building occupants.
- Liaise with and assist the Police, Fire and emergency services and make decisions in the light of information received
- Ensure that a fire safety plan is in place and that the building fire safety and emergency procedures fulfil departmental and legal requirements
- Lead on and resource the counter terrorism activity in the building in line with departmental standards
- Provide assurance that all HMRC Lines of Business (LOB) and Other Government Departments (OGDs) hold up to date Business Continuity Plans and ensure Estates Building Continuity Plans are in place and tested regularly
- Support the wider team to carry out other tasks to contribute towards the day to day operations of the Estate, including responding to customer enquiries, maintaining processes within the building, i.e., locker management, visitor process, maintaining signage etc and any other tasks directed by the Building Manager or Head of Estate
- Participate in and be available for the Estates Team On Call Rota. Candidate must demonstrate previous experience of responsibility for business continuity and incident control within a large business. If not already held, you must be willing to obtain Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) or equivalent Business Continuity qualification within 24 months of taking up post.
