We’re recruiting for an SC-cleared Data Scientist to join a major public sector programme delivering innovative data capability in a secure environment. This is a hands‑on role focused on building and testing machine learning and analytics proof of concepts, surfacing insight from complex datasets, and presenting outputs clearly to stakeholders.

You’ll join a fast‑paced innovation team working in short sprint cycles across anomaly detection, data quality, statistical modelling and LLM‑based summarisation.

Role responsibilities

• Build and test ML and analytics proof of concepts
• Identify patterns, anomalies and insight across complex datasets
• Apply statistical modelling and AI techniques to operational challenges
• Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Work in short, delivery-focused sprint cycles

Experience

• Strong data science background with hands‑on ML and AI experience
• Strong Python skills, including PySpark and PyTorch
• AWS experience, particularly SageMaker, S3, Athena and Lambda
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• Experience working in agile, delivery-focused environments
• Tableau and operational datasets experience beneficial
