Senior Commercial Manager – Major Infrastructure / Energy Project
London (Hybrid) | £100,000 – £120,000 + Package
I am currently working in partnership with a highly respected, international consultancy that is supporting the delivery of a flagship infrastructure programme within the energy and utilities sector. This is a senior‑level appointment on a complex, high‑value scheme with significant stakeholder exposure and a long‑term delivery programme. The role will suit a commercially astute professional who is comfortable operating in a client‑facing environment and managing contractual risk on major infrastructure projects.
The Role
You will play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of a major energy infrastructure project, working closely with the client and delivery partners to ensure robust contract administration and effective management of commercial risk. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading contract administration activities across a major infrastructure programme
- Managing contractual correspondence, change control, and commercial governance processes
- Supporting the management and resolution of claims and disputes
- Providing commercial advice to senior stakeholders and project leadership
- Ensuring compliance with contractual frameworks and best‑practice commercial procedures
- Supporting project delivery teams across multiple locations
Project & Working Arrangements
- Co‑location within the client’s London office 1-2 days per week
- Occasional travel to project sites in Kent and Mainland Europe
About You
We are keen to speak with commercially driven professionals who bring strong experience from major infrastructure or energy projects in the UK. Ideal background and experience:
- Proven experience operating at Senior Commercial Manager level (or equivalent)
- Strong contract administration expertise on complex projects
- Experience managing or supporting claims and dispute processes
- Track record working on large‑scale projects valued at £100m+
- Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts, with Silver Book experience highly desirable
- Experience on HVDC Interconnector or major power transmission projects would be a distinct advantage
- Comfortable working in a client‑facing, multi‑stakeholder environment
Package
- Salary: £100,000 – £120,000 (depending on experience)
- Travel allowance £6,000
