About the Role
The Environmental and Compliance Manager will oversee compliance with environmental legislation and manage key responsibilities to support the business’s growth and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Compliance & Legislation: Lead all aspects of environmental legislation and compliance to ensure the business meets all legal obligations.
- Permitting & Notifications: Manage and oversee planning, environmental permitting, water discharge consents, and waste shipment notifications.
- Strategic Growth: Proactively manage compliance requirements to support business expansion and maintain a competitive edge.
- Management Reporting: Act as a core member of the local management team at the Dudley Operations, reporting directly to the Director Metals UK.
- System Maintenance: Ensure adherence to integrated management standards and regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications
- Industry Expertise: A strong understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations and experience within the waste or resource recovery sector.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO Management Systems, specifically ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Regulatory Precision: Experience handling complex documentation such as water discharge and waste shipment notifications.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a local management team and engage with stakeholders.
- Proactive Mindset: A forward‑thinking approach to compliance that anticipates regulatory changes and business needs.
Pay range and compensation package
Salary range will be £45‑50k dependent on experience + benefits package.
