Continuous Improvement Engineer – Stevenage

About the Continuous Improvement Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities of Continuous Improvement Engineer

  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, SMED, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to achieve best‑in‑class quality and efficiency
  • Drive defect prevention through robust process controls and error‑proofing solutions
  • Support New Product Development activities from concept through to launch
  • Specify and validate equipment, tooling and fixtures to meet production requirements
  • Lead cost‑reduction initiatives through process optimisation and value engineering
  • Prepare and justify capital expenditure requests, including cost analysis and ROI
  • Support capital projects and contribute to CapEx planning and execution

Candidate Profile

  • HND or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred)
  • Experience in high‑volume manufacturing, ideally automotive or similar
  • Practical experience with Lean tools and structured problem‑solving methodologies
  • Knowledge of automated assembly systems, tooling and test equipment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is advantageous
  • Experience with CapEx projects or capital investment planning is beneficial

Salary and Benefits

  • Up to £55,000
  • Annual bonus (non‑contractual and reviewed annually)
  • Pension with matched contributions up to 7%
