Job Description:

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading infrastructure services provider to recruit a HSEQ Manager. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will be responsible for supporting and delivering the HSEQ management systems across the business. Working closely with senior leadership and contract management teams, you will ensure compliance with all legal and ISO standards while promoting a strong, proactive safety culture. You will play a key role in driving performance, improving systems, and ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across multiple sites throughout Northern Ireland. In your new role: Ensure alignment with HSEQ management systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 Support the delivery of HSEQ strategy and drive continuous improvement across the division Monitor, evaluate, and report on HSEQ performance, identifying areas for improvement Conduct site audits, inspections, and external audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards Provide expert advice and guidance on HSEQ matters to management and operational teams Develop and implement HSEQ initiatives, targets, and KPIs Ensure all worksites meet legal HSEQ obligations and client requirements Support contract delivery by identifying risks and implementing control measures Lead incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented Oversee subcontractor compliance, including review and approval of RAMS Prepare and review CDM plans, pre-qualification questionnaires, and tender documentation Deliver HSEQ training including inductions and toolbox talks Monitor working hours and compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies Promote and embed a positive safety culture across all levels of the organisation What you will need to succeed: NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) Minimum 3 years’ experience in a HSEQ Manager or similar role Strong working knowledge of HSEQ legislation and safe systems of work Ability to influence and lead safety culture within operational environments Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical ability to interpret safety data and implement improvements Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Northern Ireland Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don’t worry if you don’t): Experience within utilities, power, telecoms, or infrastructure sectors Experience working with subcontractors and multi-site operations Knowledge of CDM regulations and tender/pre-qualification processes For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis today.
