Mobile Forklift Engineer – Gas & Diesel

Location: ByfleetSalary: 30K Per AnnumContract Type: PermanentAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join our team, providing on-site maintenance, servicing, and breakdown support for gas and diesel forklifts. You will work across multiple sites, ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operational.Key Responsibilities as a Forklift Driver: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of gas and diesel forklifts.LOLER inspectionsDiagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site repair solutions.Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.Advise clients on equipment maintenance and operational best practices. Required Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a forklift engineer or industrial vehicle technician.Forklift truck certification (RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Engineering Maintenance, or equivalent.Strong knowledge of gas (LPG) and diesel engines.Familiarity with hydraulics, transmissions, and electronic systems on forklifts.Health & Safety awareness; CSCS, IOSH, or NEBOSH certifications are desirable.Valid UK driving license and ability to travel to client sites. Skills & Attributes: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.Flexible and adaptable to different client sites and working conditions.
