An exciting opportunity has arisen within an industry‑leading environmental company who provide a wide range of fire risk and compliance services to clients throughout the UK. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced, dedicated and hardworking Fire Stopping Engineer to join their team based in and around the Manchester area. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all passive fire protection services and procedures as well as carrying out installations and inspections on fire stopping measures. Qualifications such as the NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or the FIRAS qualification will also be beneficial to the role as well as previous experience providing quotes for fire stopping measures and products. Applications from Oldham, Wigan, Bolton, Liverpool and the surrounding areas will be considered.
Experience & Qualifications
- Will ideally hold relevant industry qualifications in fire prevention and fire door inspections.
- Will have hands on experience carrying out fire stopping works to various properties, including commercial, industrial and public sectors.
- Will ideally have experience working on social housing.
- Will ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or FIRAS qualification.
- Must have extensive experience inspecting and installing fire prevention systems, fire doors, alarms and extinguishers.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Fire Risk and Health & Safety procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of passive fire protection measures and policies.
- All applicants must have IPAF/PASMA certificate.
- Full clean driving licence will be beneficial.
- Must have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Proficient IT skills – including MS Office.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking Fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings, delivering training courses, etc.
- Installing fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers as well as fire suppression systems.
- Carrying out inspections of fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers etc.
- Delivering presentations and training to internal staff as required.
- Developing and maintaining a varied portfolio of clients – both new and existing.
- Liaising with clients in regards to preventative measures and providing quotes for works.
- Addressing any issues which may arise effectively and appropriately.
- Supporting and liaising with the Fire Safety Consultant with regards to consultancy work.
The successful candidate will be hardworking and reliable, with a flexible and adaptive approach to their work. The ideal candidate will be experienced in pass fire protection measures and demonstrate their professional knowledge and experience gained working in a similar role.
