Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with deep expertise in systems integration and non‑functional requirements (NFRs). The role sits at the intersection of business analysis, solution design, and technical delivery—ensuring that systems interact seamlessly, data flows reliably, and the resulting solutions satisfy performance, security, scalability, and operational criteria.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills, and a hands‑on understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and the technical considerations that ensure stable, high‑quality platforms.

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Lead workshops with product owners, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to capture functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Translate high‑level business needs into detailed system‑level specifications for integrations and platform capabilities.
- Define acceptance criteria and ensure requirements are testable, measurable, and traceable.
- Integration Analysis: Analyse upstream and downstream system interactions, data flows, and event triggers to ensure coherent end‑to‑end integration design. Produce integration specifications including interface definitions, data mappings, transformation logic, and error‑handling rules.
- Understand and document API behaviours, payload structures (REST/JSON/XML), authentication mechanisms, and versioning requirements.
- Collaborate closely with solution architects to ensure alignment with enterprise integration strategies and patterns.
- Non‑Functional Requirements (NFR) Definition: Define and shape NFRs across domains such as performance & throughput, scalability & capacity, security & compliance, reliability, availability & resilience, observability (logging, monitoring, tracing), maintainability & supportability, disaster recovery & business continuity.
- Work with engineering and architecture teams to ensure NFRs are realistically scoped, measurable, and built into design and delivery plans.
- Documentation & Modelling: Create high‑quality artefacts including process flows (BPMN/UML), system interaction diagrams, data flow diagrams (DFDs), NFR catalogues and traceability matrices.
- Maintain clear documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst within Banking or Financial Services ideally mortgages.
- Strong understanding of mortgage lifecycle processes including originations servicing redemptions and arrears.
- Demonstrated experience in Legal Title work and managing regulated customer communications.
- Ability to create detailed functional requirements process flows and user stories.
- Strong SQL data analysis and data mapping skills.
- Experience with document generation platforms and template specification.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies such as SAFe.
