Role

As a Production Project Manager, you’ll join our Mission Systems business, supporting one of the most strategically important defence programmes in the UK in the delivery of a new class of submarine. It’s a career-defining opportunity to work at the forefront of national security, where engineering, production, and innovation intersect.

In this role, you’ll drive the safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of complex equipment, contributing directly to a programme critical to the Royal Navy and the nation. You’ll grow your expertise in production, project delivery and stakeholder management, all while shaping your personal and professional development in an inspiring environment that champions curiosity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver allocated equipment packages safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Lead best‑practice project controls across scheduling, cost, risk and procurement.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production teams and wider stakeholders to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Engage confidently with internal and external partners to support project success.
  • Champion continuous improvement and help strengthen project delivery processes.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with minimum 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home.

Essential Experience

  • Strong background in production, manufacturing, engineering or similar.
  • Experience managing or supporting delivery within a project environment.
  • Solid understanding of project controls and decision‑support tools.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong computer literacy; experience with eQMS systems desirable.

Qualifications

  • Project management training or certification (e.g., APM PFQ).
