We are seeking a detail‑oriented Tester to ensure our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance. In this role, you will review requirements, create and execute test cases, prepare test data, and document results. You will manage both manual testing and automated testing tools, identifying defects and producing clear test reports.
Working closely with key stakeholders, you will play a vital role in maintaining software quality, ensuring smooth functionality, and verifying that all requirements are fully met.
Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Test Analyst at Nottingham Building Society:
- Test Planning: Lead planning activities across Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
- Test Execution: Conduct thorough testing to validate software quality and performance.
- Requirements Analysis: Review functional, non‑functional, technical specs and user stories to create test cases and scenarios.
- Test Data Preparation: Produce accurate input data and expected results for all test phases.
- Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and support resolution of defects efficiently.
- Review & Collaboration: Participate in document and peer reviews, working closely with project teams to resolve issues.
- Workload Management: Plan and manage your own workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to enhancing testing processes and recommend quality improvement initiatives.
About you:
- Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge of QA processes, industry standards, testing techniques, manual and automated testing, and experience defining/executing tests for both customer‑facing and backend systems.
- Lifecycle & Methodologies: Solid understanding of the full business/systems analysis lifecycle, project delivery cycles, and both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Defect & Quality Management: Proven ability to track, log, and communicate defects effectively, with a solid grasp of defect management and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Logical thinker with strong analytical capability, able to translate complex information into clear test scenarios and cases.
- Tools & Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience writing and executing test cases, using relevant testing tools; Salesforce and automation experience desirable; ISTQB Foundation beneficial.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of building relationships across the business and working with IT teams to support quality sign-off.
- Professionalism & Work Ethic: Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, able to manage workload independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Business Awareness: Strong customer focus, strong technical learning capacity, and ability to support change initiatives across the organisation.
