The Audit Senior Manager Role
AMS Group (Top 60 UK firm) is hiring an Audit Senior Manager to lead a significant audit portfolio and play a key role in driving audit quality, ISQM 1 compliance, and departmental leadership.
You’ll act as the bridge between the RI and Audit Managers, ensuring files are RI‑ready, overseeing complex audits, and providing strong technical and people leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a £500k–£1m+ audit portfolio, including complex groups and regulated entities
- Ensure high‑quality audits under ISAs (UK), FRS 102, IFRS and Companies Act
- Oversee technical areas: consolidations, estimates, going concern, fraud risk
- Lead on ISQM 1 quality initiatives and root cause analysis
- Mentor and develop Managers and Assistant Managers
- Drive commercial performance, workflow planning and client relationships
- Act as a senior, stabilising leader within the audit department
- 5+ years PQE
- Experience as Audit Manager/Senior Manager in a Top 50 firm
- Strong technical expertise and proven ability to manage complex audits
- Confident leader with sound judgement and high accountability
