Job Type: Full time, Permanent basis We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a fast growing recycling organisation as they commission a massive new facility in Swansea. If you have the grit for fast-paced fixed-plant engineering and the skill to manage complex electrical and mechanical systems, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Take a lead role in the initial setup, ramp-up, and optimisation of a brand-new, high-throughput facility.
  • Deliver high-standard Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and rapid reactive repairs across a complex fleet of conveyors, gearboxes, and heavy plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across integrated systems, including PLC-controlled circuits (Siemens/Allen Bradley), motors, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Go beyond the “quick fix” by using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CMMS data to drive long-term uptime and plant improvements.
  • Champion a “Safety-First” culture by strictly enforcing LOTO (Lock-Out, Tag-Out), isolation procedures, and permit-to-work standards.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven electrical and mechanical experience within high-throughput environments like recycling, waste processing, or aggregates.
  • Level 3 qualification (Electrical, Mechatronics, or Engineering) or time-served equivalent, with advanced fault-finding skills.
  • A disciplined approach to industrial safety, including a strong working knowledge of PUWER and LOTO (Lock-Out, Tag-Out) procedures.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and stay focused in fast-paced environments, using digital systems (CMMS) to track maintenance.
  • Experience with heavy-duty shredders, commissioning new plants, or holding tickets for 18th Edition, HV-LV, or MEWPs is desirable.

What’s in it for you?

  • Benefit from a clear, structured pathway into Lead Engineer or Engineering Management roles as the site scales.
  • Be a founding member of the engineering team in a brand-new, state-of-the-art recycling facility.
  • Pension & other benefits
  • Overtime and callout arrangements
