Health & Safety Manager

Location: Solihull (Office based with nationwide travel)

We’re working with a growing construction business looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support ongoing operations across multiple projects nationwide.

Duties include:

  • Ensuring full compliance with UK health and safety legislation and industry regulations
  • Producing and reviewing site specific RAMS
  • Carrying out site inspections across various locations as required
  • Undertaking risk assessments and implementing measures to control and reduce hazards
  • Managing incident reporting processes, including investigations and follow-up actions
  • Overseeing safety training for subcontractors and ensuring all certifications are in place
  • Keeping up to date with current legislation and ensuring company-wide compliance
  • Developing and maintaining emergency procedures, including carrying out drills
  • Liaising with external auditors and accreditation bodies to maintain certifications such as ISO standards and Constructionline
  • Writing, reviewing, and communicating health and safety policies and procedures
  • Recording and reporting on accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to safety audits, inspections, and training

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a Health & Safety role
  • Groundworks/shopfitting industry experience
  • NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Familiarity with management systems and standards such as ISO 14001, 45001, and 9001
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence

Additional details:

  • Office based role in Solihull, Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm)
  • Regular travel to sites across the UK will be required

Package:

  • Salary circa 50,000 depending on experience
  • 5,000 car allowance
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme
