About the Opportunity

We are working with a well-established, global engineering and manufacturing organisation that delivers high-performance solutions into critical industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to appoint a Projects Team Manager to lead and develop their project delivery capability.

This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to oversee a portfolio of complex manufacturing projects while managing and mentoring a team of project managers.

The Role

As Projects Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects within a manufacturing environment. You will provide leadership, structure, and strategic direction across the project function, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.

You will play a central role in driving performance, improving delivery processes, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers and project teams
  • Oversee a portfolio of manufacturing and engineering projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Allocate and manage resources across multiple projects
  • Establish and maintain project governance, processes, and best practices
  • Monitor project performance, risks, and dependencies
  • Provide clear reporting and updates to senior stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and execution
  • Support strategic planning and alignment of project activities with business goals
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee project close-out, including lessons learned and handover

About You

  • Proven experience in project or programme management within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
  • Experience leading or mentoring project managers or delivery teams
  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, and risk management
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global business environment

Desirable

  • Experience within sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, or heavy industry
  • Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
  • Background in mechanical, process, or industrial engineering
