Ocean Freight Operator

Ocean Freight Coordinator – Lichfield – Up to 35,000

We’re looking for an experienced Sea Freight Forwarder to manage end-to-end import/export operations (FCL & LCL) for our client. This is a hands-on forwarding role combining operations and customer service, with opportunities to support commercial growth.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:30 to 17:30

Salary: Up to 35,000

– Hybrid option after passing of probation (3 days office, 2 days home)

Day-to-day:

• Handle full shipment cycle: bookings, documentation, customs, and delivery
• Provide quotes, negotiate rates, and support sales
• Build relationships with carriers, agents, and clients
• Monitor shipments and resolve issues proactively
• Maintain accurate records and invoicing

Requirements:

• 5+ years in sea freight forwarding working for a UK based freight forwarder
• Right to work in the UK – No sponsorship is on offer
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs, and documentation
• Experience with FCL/LCL shipments
• Confident communicator with commercial awareness
• Familiarity with TMS/CRM systems
