Overview
Their Fire Safety Division is currently looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Manager/Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to help grow and develop the team. They carry out installation, servicing and maintenance of fire systems across the London area. The ideal candidate will be based close to London and be prepared to travel within the London area.
Responsibilities
- Service, Maintenance & Installation of Fire Alarm Systems as required in line with the British Standards
- Commissioning of fire alarm installation projects
- Ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner and complies with relevant standards (BS 5839-1 2017, BS 5839-6 2019, BS 7671)
- Complete documentation and certification on project completion to ensure compliance
- Carry out technical investigations and collate reports for submission
- Collate and submit all evidence of works – printouts/engineer sheets/test results
- Identify technical issues with the systems and carry out corrective actions
- Identify potential remedial works during PPM/reactive visits and supply accurate scopes of work to enable quote generation
- Provide technical support to the fire alarms team and colleagues as required
- Mentor and coach engineers
- Maintain good relationships with the customer
- Provide excellent customer service and work effectively within a team
The ideal Fire Alarm Manager/Senior Fire Alarm Engineer will have an electrical background. Experience in fire alarm commissioning is preferred, but suitable training can be provided to the right candidate with relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of BS 5839-1 2017 (required) and BS 5839-6 2019 (desirable)
- Knowledge of the principles of BAFE SP203/BS5839
- Electrical experience – ideally with an electrician trade background or proven electrical awareness
- Previous experience installing, servicing, maintaining & commissioning fire alarm systems
- Wide knowledge of manufacturers
- Previous supervisory/management experience
- Experience completing certification
- FIA Certificates or any other relevant fire alarms qualifications (FIA/NSI/LPCB/C&G)
- 4+ years’ experience working with fire alarm systems
- Excellent negotiation, communication, problem‑solving and IT skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and submit paperwork in a timely manner
- Knowledge and experience of the full project life cycle
- Self‑motivation, organisational ability and the capacity to motivate and advise others
- Live in an area commutable to London
- Full valid UK driving licence
