Role Overview

As our Demand Planning Manager, you will lead the S&OP process, highlighting critical insights to the leadership team, supporting the business to achieve excellent results. You will manage the demand planning tool to maximise inventory availability, stock turn and inventory position. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring KPI’s and managing the forecasting process. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the business with your team to ensure the right stock is available at the right time.

Main Duties

  • Work with Sales Leadership Team to review sales inputs to ensure sales forecast is accurate
  • Analyse and challenge the sales forecast where required to improve forecast accuracy
  • Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on demand and lead times by updating and reviewing product supply plan
  • Set and maintain the KPI’s within the demand planning team to include, but not limited to stock availability, customer OTIF, stock turn, inventory positions
  • Maintain master data planning information (e.g. MOQ’s, lead times)
  • Identify and manage excess and obsolete stock
  • Manage stock requirements for new product launches, aligned with sell-through for outgoing products
  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options
  • Maintain/Improve existing supplier relationships, build new relationships as required and define communication channels
  • Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement within our supplier base and internal stakeholders
  • Manages, motivates and assesses performance of the demand planning team

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with software systems – including IFS systems and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required)
  • Proven working experience within a demand planning role
  • Analytical with strong communication skills at all levels and a confident team player
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Experience using forecasting tools and the ability to interpret data to improve performance within the demand function
  • Proven ability to work quickly and accurately, with an eye on suggesting improvements to processes and systems
  • Meticulous organisation skills and a keen attention for details
  • Relishes variety, whilst maintaining a methodical approach to getting the job done
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to get things done via others
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of people to motivate them, provide guidance and encourage an environment where all have a voice
  • Able to influence and negotiate persuasively at peers and senior level internally and externally
  • Dynamic approach to problem solving on medium as well as short term issues
  • Highly analytical with the ability to work with large data, whilst being able to summarise the detail and essence to key stakeholders
