Location: EMEA / EU Hours – Authorized to work in EMEA.
Remote: Full-time.
Compensation: €90K – €130K.
Our client is a high-growth fintech leader specializing in simplifying multi-chain DeFi. They offer a unified API that provides seamless access to on‑chain liquidity across major blockchains for optimized same‑chain and cross‑chain swaps. Their mission is to enable a fairer, decentralized world while prioritizing exceptional user experiences.
The organization seeks multiple Senior Backend Engineers to lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems. Candidates will report to the Backend Lead and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
The technical stack includes Node.js (TypeScript), MongoDB, Redis, ethers.js, with a GitOps CD chain involving Kubernetes and AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and APIs.
- Architect and implement robust backend solutions capable of handling increasing user loads and evolving business requirements.
- Maintain high coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and enforce best practices for maintainability and readability.
- Identify system bottlenecks and optimize code and algorithms to improve overall performance.
- Implement monitoring and debugging tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high system availability.
- Develop comprehensive test suites—including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests—to ensure backend reliability.
- Provide guidance to junior developers to foster technical growth within the team.
- Document code, APIs, and technical processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and streamline onboarding.

Requirements
- Location: Candidates must be located in the EMEA or APAC regions.
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js is required.
- Proven experience working with the Stellar network in production environments.
- Previous experience in the blockchain space with a technical understanding of the EVM ecosystem (or other blockchain environments). Familiarity with Stellar’s Soroban smart contracts is a significant plus.
- Extensive professional experience in a similar senior or lead role.
- Solid understanding of document databases (MongoDB), caching mechanisms (Redis), and system architecture design.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a proactive manner.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science is considered a plus.
- Very strong written and verbal English skills for effective stakeholder communication.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of €90,000 – €130,000 EUR, plus equity participation from day one.
