Clinical/Forensic Psychologist

Overview

We have an excellent new job opportunity for a dedicated Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to work at a mental health hospital in Thatcham, Berkshire. The role is offered by one of the UK’s leading health‑care providers.

Our hospital combines medium‑secure and low‑secure units and rehabilitation flats to support patients in recovery and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Autonomous management of own caseload, including complex service users.
• Attend regular clinical and service‑development meetings: MDTs, CPAs, referrals, and other hospital‑wide meetings.
• Act as an integral part of the Multi‑Disciplinary Team on the Male LD MSU.
• Provide both long‑term and short‑term work, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of individual and group work.
• Maintain monthly clinical supervision and regular line‑management supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registered with the HCPC, BPS accredited, and a Chartered Member of the BPS.
• Experience with clients with complex needs relevant to the population served.
• Competency in psychological assessment, formulation, and risk assessment/management tools.
• Experience using CBT or other psychological models to address a range of clinical and forensic issues.
• Awareness of other modalities and how they can be applied to the service user population.
