Tetra Tech’s Water Consultancy is seeking multiple Civil Design Engineers to support long‑term water industry frameworks across the UK, including a £100m United Utilities single‑award framework for river health in the North West. You will produce outline and detailed designs, construction‑ready drawings and documentation for sewerage, pumping stations, rising mains and site layouts. Daily activities include client engagement, feasibility and optioneering inputs, interdisciplinary coordination and technical deliverables for multi‑million‑pound programmes within AMP8 and AMP9. You will work in multidisciplinary teams and mentor graduate engineers as required.
In the short term you will deliver accurate design packages that enable confident procurement and construction. Over the medium term you will lead design workstreams, improve technical efficiency and support low‑carbon solutions.
Expected: degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Desirable: postgraduate qualifications and chartership or working towards chartership; membership of a relevant professional institution.
Hybrid roles across regional offices with regular site visits; typical office attendance 2–3 days per week. Flexible working considered to support delivery and career development.
In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day-to-day role.
