Overview

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid3 days per week in our city centre hub)

Salary: Competitive Basic + uncapped Commissions (Yr. 1 £53,500K OTE / Yr. 2 £70,300OTE)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5

The Role

We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to grow our NBS Source platform—helping manufacturers improve visibility, drive demand, and get their products specified on construction projects across the UK.

This isn’t a SaaS licence sale. It’s consultative, insight-led partnership where you’ll be selling product visibility, market access, and specifier engagement to forward-thinking manufacturers.

We build long-standing relationships with medium to large enterprise construction product manufacturers who sell into UK construction projects. Through consultation, you’ll uncover commercial drivers with senior stakeholders, then translate them into targeted visibility, technical compliance, and efficiency outcomes that help future-proof their business.

These are long-term commercial conversations rooted in value.

What you’ll be doing

  • Generate and close new business across the UK manufacturing sector, focusing on mid-to-enterprise accounts
  • Run C-level conversations with CEOs, MDs, Marketing Directors, Sales Directors, and Technical Directors to uncover needs and align solutions
  • Educate clients on how structured product data drives specification, compliance, and future pipeline
  • Sell consultatively — shaping solutions based on technical need, visibility gaps, and commercial objectives
  • Engage sales, marketing, and product decision-makers within target manufacturers
  • Collaborate across Hubexo to tailor demos, messaging, and value propositions that resonate
  • Build pipeline momentum and manage deals with clarity and control, with contract values so you’ll need discipline, stakeholder control, and strong pipeline rhythm
  • Represent NBS and Hubexo at industry events, webinars, and forums to build profile and trust
  • Build fluency in construction products, the design and specification process, and BIM (Building Information Modelling) to strengthen credibility and impact

About You

  • You’re commercially sharp, customer-focused, and ready to lead conversations that shape how manufacturers win work.
  • You’ve sold digital advertising, product listings, or insight-led platforms to commercial B2B clients — ideally helping them boost visibility, reach decision-makers, and drive demand. Experience with manufacturers or product-led sectors is a bonus, not a must.
  • You’re confident working with senior stakeholders across sales, marketing, and product teams
  • You’re curious and credible — you ask smart questions and back them with insight
  • You’re organised and self-directed — you take ownership of outcomes, not just activity
  • You’re CRM confident — Salesforce experience is a bonus, but not a blocker
  • You enjoy learning how products are chosen and specified, and you’re keen to deepen your understanding of BIM and the specification process
