Are you passionate about quality care and ensuring the best standard of service delivery to the Adults of Leicester? This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a wider service, as a Quality Assurance Contract officer within Adults social care & commissioning.

You will support the adult social care market to drive up the quality of service provided through the monitoring of service providers and contractual arrangements, ensuring issues of compliance and performance are addressed.
The Quality Improvement Team work directly with providers, delivering training and support which aims to upskill staff, raise awareness of best practice in management and social care support. Interventions can be tailored to concerns identified, issues identified by the provider or as a result of safeguarding or other concerns which could impact on the health safety and wellbeing of people supported. The team also offers Quality Cafes where they deliver interactive sessions focusing on topics that support quality improvement across the range of providers supporting people within Leicester city.
No two days are the same, you’ll be working in partnership with others across adult social care and Health. You’ll need a positive attitude and a good awareness of key legislation for social care including health.
This is a full time, fixed term position working 37 hours per week (for 12 months), those wishing to work part time hours are also invited to apply. The team work from home, from Halford House on the dedicated Quality & Contract Service day, and at provider establishments. Working flexibly to meet the needs of those who draw on support.

What you’ll be doing
- You’ll have good knowledge of what good social care should look like. Presenting and supporting people to develop the skills and ability to deliver quality care and support.
- Deliver training and ensuring the effective use of compliance systems and quality assurance frameworks to achieve continuous improvement of all services and safeguarding of individuals.
- Working as part of a team to drive up quality in adult social care provision and provide advice on quality concerns linked to Adult Safeguarding Enquiries.
- Including attendance at safeguarding meetings. Assist in investigating service failures and quality concerns.
- You will be required to assist during quality assurance framework and contract monitoring visits as required. You must have the ability to recognise and address discrimination in line with the councils Equality polies and procedures.
What you’ll need
- With experience in and good knowledge of undertaking quality monitoring activity within the social care market. You’ll evaluate the effectiveness of service providers within a contractual relationship. Accurately recording, gathering and collating clear evidence-based information and data. Using your good analytical skills to extract and interpret data to produce performance management information.
- Recognising and evaluating risk with the ability to identify suitable risk strategies and controls to mitigate the impact of the identified risks to enhance resilience.
- With excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities especially when it comes to identifying and addressing quality challenges alongside knowledge of tools and techniques which will drive up the quality of the services provided. As well as, being able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
