JOB SUMMARY
To be Services Manager for the Mentoring and Families Department, developing and delivering mentoring and family support services for young people and families experiencing challenges in their lives. The post holder will oversee projects within the Mentoring and Families Department, ensure the effective delivery of high‑quality services, and act as a member of the organisation’s safeguarding team.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Lead on the development and implementation of new services within the Mentoring and Families team.
- Lead on the development of community youth work and partnerships to deliver services to young people and families.
- Lead on staff development within the Mentoring and Families team.
- Play an active role within the safeguarding team providing safeguarding support to staff.
- Engage in development of new programme funding proposals.
- Manage staff teams to effectively undertake their roles and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Provide regular supervision and support to staff teams, including safeguarding guidance and support.
- To liaise with funders, commissioners, and key personnel to manage programmes and projects effectively.
- Undertake reflective practice and best‑practice sessions with staff to support development and continuous improvement.
- To ensure all referrals are assessed and allocated to the appropriate programmes.
- Manage waiting lists and ensure clear communication with CYPFs and professionals.
- Raise the profile of programmes to ensure young people are referred and professionals are aware of services offered.
- Attend meetings with funders, partners, and agencies across Gloucestershire to ensure services meet the needs of young people and families.
- Ensure a consistently high‑quality service is delivered to young people and families by the team and wider staff.
- To ensure where appropriate young people are referred to other YG programmes to improve their outcomes and meet their needs.
- Develop knowledge of additional opportunities and support networks that may benefit the development and progression of young people and families.
- Use a youth work approach to encourage and maintain young person engagement with all support services.
- Assist in the development and delivery of additional funded projects that support and engage young people and families.
- Oversee YG’s database for projects, and ensure all outcomes are recorded, reports submitted and safeguarding accurately recorded.
- Collect and review delivery data ensuring projects are meeting KPI’s, project outcomes, and contractual requirements.
- Provide reports to funders showcasing the outcomes of the projects and evidencing that KPI’s are being met.
- Work within budgets as agreed with the line manager.
- Produce risk assessments as required.
- Be an active part of Young Gloucestershire’s safeguarding team and take responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of staff and CYPFs with specific safeguarding duties.
