Job Description:

OUR IMPACT

The Office of Regulatory Relations (ORR) protects the firm’s regulatory reputation by managing its relationships with regulators and enhancing the firm’s overall regulatory compliance. We set standards for all regulatory interactions at the firm, lead the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries and oversee certain areas of enhancement.

ORR works closely with Global Compliance to prevent, detect and mitigate compliance, regulatory and reputational risks across the firm and to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defence, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risks; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches.

You’ll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity and the ability to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Working with other compliance areas and the business to produce responses to information requests ahead of such audits/reviews; assisting in the preparation for and attendance at related onsite meetings with the FCA.
  • Supporting the firm’s governance arrangements, including contributing to and managing the framework supporting the firm’s Senior Manager Arrangements.
  • Operating across regulatory programme workstreams to help facilitate and deliver solutions that meet the quality criteria established by compliance management.
  • Providing analytical, documentary support to compliance project managers and other members of compliance.
  • Supporting and participating in working groups for solutions development and implementation of regulatory change.
  • Producing compliance management reporting and materials.
  • Overseeing the compilation and reporting of the annual EMEA compliance business plan.
  • Leading and participating in conduct initiatives for the EMEA compliance division.
  • Facilitating regulatory licensing applications and fee payments to support new and expanded business activities.
  • Managing the coordination of submission of compliance‑owned non‑financial regulatory reports.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who can work both independently and collaboratively and is able to prioritize in a fast‑moving, high‑pressure, changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; looks for creative solutions to issues and problems.
  • Sound judgement.
