Commercial Finance Lead
Salary: £75,000-£85,000
Location: Plymouth (Hybrid Working)
We are working with a fast-growing, customer-focused organisation in the connectivity sector that is seeking a commercially minded Finance Lead to support its revenue-generating divisions. This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, enhance financial performance, and support ambitious growth plans.
The Role
As a Commercial Finance Lead, you will act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Product teams. You’ll provide insight into financial and operational performance, helping shape pricing strategies, improve forecasting accuracy, and drive profitability across multiple revenue streams.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring robust financial oversight while enabling the business to make informed, data-driven commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with commercial leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Deliver clear, insightful reporting on revenue, margins, and key performance indicators
- Provide analysis on pricing, promotions, and customer offers to maximise returns
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes for commercial areas
- Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, products, and partnerships
- Analyse customer and product profitability to identify opportunities for growth
- Contribute to the development of customer segmentation and revenue optimisation strategies
- Build financial models to assess commercial scenarios and investment decisions
- Monitor performance against targets, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Strengthen financial controls and governance across commercial activities
- Prepare high-quality commentary for senior leadership and board-level discussions
- Continuously improve reporting, processes, and analytical capabilities
About You
- Strong background in commercial finance, business partnering, or similar roles
- Proven ability to translate complex data into meaningful commercial insight
- Experience supporting Sales, Marketing, or Product functions
- Solid understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling
- Confident influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
Experience & Qualifications
- Part or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Several years’ experience in a commercial finance or partnering role
- Experience in a connectivity, technology, subscription-based business or telecoms is highly desirable
- Background in high-growth or investor-backed environments is a plus
