The Role
As a Engineering Director at Capco, you’ll lead high-performing teams to deliver complex, impactful technology solutions across financial services. You’ll combine deep technical knowledge with strong leadership, guiding engineers to create scalable, innovative, and client-focused products. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends delivery, mentorship, and technical excellence to shape the next generation of digital platforms in banking and finance.
This role will sit in our Scotland office, with a need to potentially work in either Edinburgh or Glasgow depending on client expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and inspire cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver exceptional software solutions.
- Apply and champion engineering best practices with a focus on quality, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to design and deliver transformative technology initiatives.
- Drive innovation through experimentation, leveraging emerging technologies and modern engineering approaches.
- Contribute to Capco’s growing engineering community – sharing knowledge, promoting standards, and fostering collaboration.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing end‑to‑end software delivery within Financial Services organisations.
- Strong technical background in one or more core stacks (e.g. Java, .NET, or similar) with hands‑on coding experience.
- Deep understanding of Cloud technologies and modern DevOps practices.
- Demonstrated success in building scalable systems and delivering complex, high‑value applications.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, driving efficiency and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for all audiences.
Bonus Points For
- Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams including Designers, Testers, and Product Owners.
- Background in managing multiple delivery teams across diverse projects or geographies.
- Involvement in pre‑sales or producing technical content for pitches and proposals.
