Principal Civil Engineer (Water)

We are expanding our engineering teams in the UK across the Northwest, working on large-scale water industry projects that span design, feasibility, and detailed engineering. We are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join either our Manchester city centre or Warrington (Birchwood) team.

Your Role

As a Principal Civil Engineer you will contribute across the full project lifecycle—from asset planning and strategy to concept, outline and detailed design. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring engineering teams to deliver integrated technical outcomes.
• Collaborating with project design leads to ensure successful project delivery.
• Applying Stantec’s global expertise and cutting‑edge technologies to develop innovative, future‑ready solutions.

About You

We are interested in passionate engineers with extensive design experience in the UK water industry. Ideally, you will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Incorporated or Chartered membership of a relevant institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment design.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams to deliver integrated technical outcomes.
