NMGH New Hospital Project Manager

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is undertaking the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) Redevelopment Programme, which will deliver a new hospital and health campus. The project aims to transform how services are delivered and create modern facilities that support world‑class clinical care for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Project Manager in the development and delivery of clinical, TOM, digital and technical design solutions.
  • Work with clinical and non‑clinical teams to develop and implement new ways of working and support communication and engagement activities.
  • Provide dedicated communications and engagement between the project and clinical/non‑clinical teams during planning and coordination of project inputs.
  • Lead and support business change management activities, design review processes, technical and business change projects, and hospital operationalisation processes.
  • Act as a link between clinical services and technical design, providing project management support across workstreams and working groups.
  • Manage and support a set of clinical and/or non‑clinical services throughout the delivery process.

Person Specification

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or demonstration of relevant transferable knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of designing and facilitating service improvement projects/events to identify opportunities for redesign and sustainable improvement.
  • Knowledge of RAID Management and Project/Programme delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects (capital or non‑capital) and/or sub‑projects/workstreams within larger programmes.
  • Experience delivering operational and policy related projects within a healthcare or construction environment.
  • Experience driving change management processes and projects, facilitating stakeholder alignment, and ensuring successful mapping, development and implementation of TOMs across functional areas.
  • Project/Programme Management qualification such as Prince2, APM PMQ, MSP or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or other construction contract principles.
  • Understanding of technical design processes and drawings.
  • Experience working within/involved in the delivery of capital and service transformation projects in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of design processes and good hospital design principles.
  • Experience managing external consultants and associated contracts.
