An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join a high-performing finance team within a leading law firm. This role sits at the heart of commercial decision-making and offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, including Partners and business leaders.

You will play a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting and insightful analysis to support strategic and commercially focused decisions across the business. This is a broad, analytical role combining regular reporting with ad hoc analysis, financial modelling, and involvement in wider finance and pricing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with Partners and senior stakeholders to support their understanding of financial performance and commercial drivers.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly performance reports, KPIs, and management information packs.
  • Analyse financial results and trends, translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Take ownership of reporting cubes (revenue, general ledger, profitability), including maintenance of budget uploads.
  • Produce ad hoc financial models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis as required.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process through modelling revenue trends and resource capacity.
  • Contribute to wider finance projects, including the expansion of pricing and commercial support across the business.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of reporting and analytical capabilities within the finance team

About You

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a commercially focused analytical role, ideally within professional services.
  • Part-qualified or qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent), or strong relevant experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and the ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets.
  • Experience working with reporting platforms, BI tools, or financial systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
