Job Overview
A phenomenal opportunity has arisen to join the Force Protection & Area Protection, Product Assurance team supporting projects in the development and production phases of the life cycle at Bristol.
Salary
Circa £60,000 depending on experience.
Working Arrangement
Dynamic hybrid: 3–4 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The Opportunity
You will play a pivotal role within a growing team ensuring all core Product Assurance activities are met, with potential to work with domestic and international colleagues on technology transfer projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the UK national Product Assurance team.
- Defining objectives and communicating them to the team.
- Managing assigned budgets and accountabilities.
- Defining and tailoring Product Assurance and Company Business procedures.
- Presenting relevant Quality issues to programme internal customers.
- Finding pragmatic solutions for customers while maintaining robust quality integrity.
- Co‑ordinating with the Head of Product Assurance Programme to ensure the team has the required skills.
- Consolidating and mitigating functional and project risks.
- Acting as Key Point of Contact for the supporting Quality Network.
- Leading acceptance events and trials for MBDA equipment in laboratory and customer environments.
- Co‑ordinating and delegating tasks within the support Quality Assurance team.
- Supporting bidding work and estimating QA effort for new packages.
- Supporting a positive team working environment in line with MBDA values.
- Supporting recruitment activities to grow the local QA team.
- Participating in ISO9000 and AS9100 assessments and internal quality audit activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- HNC/HND in Engineering or Quality Assurance, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in people management and leading or motivating QA teams.
- Experience developing individuals and teams within a QA environment.
- High degree of self‑motivation, autonomy, excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire change and comfortable working in a matrix organisation.
- Strong analytical skills; able to run reports in Excel, use SAP QM system, and document management tools.
- Continuous improvement awareness and initiative.
- Experience navigating Customer QA contract requirements.
- Strong understanding of the CADMID cycle and experience supporting projects through Demonstration (Development) and Manufacture stages.
- Experience supporting projects/products through development and qualification activities preferred.
