Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the project commercial team.
- Oversee commercial risk and opportunity management.
- Advise senior management on commercial strategy and performance.
- Manage NEC contracts (NEC4 preferred).
- Conduct client‑facing commercial negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
- Commercial management of subcontractor and supply chain packages, including M&E.
- Cost forecasting, cash flow management and applications for payment.
- Prepare final accounts and contract close‑out.
- Support regional commercial reporting and management accounts.
- Maintain accurate commercial records to manage disputes and risk.
Project & Security Requirements (Important)
Due to the defence‑regulated project environment, the following requirements apply:
- BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) required initially.
- Further security clearance required once in post (supported by the employer).
- UK / English nationals only, due to security clearance eligibility.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a secure, site‑based environment on a long‑term infrastructure programme.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong background in construction, infrastructure or engineering projects.
- Experience working under NEC contracts (NEC4 preferred).
- Strong commercial, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience managing M&E packages advantageous.
- Comfortable working on site‑based, client‑facing projects.
