R&D Partners is seeking a dedicated and experienced General/Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a manufacturing business across two sites. This role focuses on ensuring smooth production processes, maintaining high-quality customer service, and achieving strategic business objectives. You will lead operational planning, manage stock controls, and support production schedules while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations across two locations.
  • Plan and implement schedules to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Lead and coach teams in operations and customer service functions.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Develop and execute operational plans to achieve business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with medical quality standards and internal systems.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor budgets, financial decisions, and investment opportunities.
  • Support audits and maintain compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations.
  • Continuously improve processes and workflows for better efficiency.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and with stakeholders.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations, including production, stock control, and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., Xero).
  • Problem‑solving skills to adapt to challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Background in engineering or significant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Awareness of the ophthalmic industry is a plus but not required.
