We’re on the lookout for an experienced Operational Safety Advisor who thrives on driving high standards, influencing teams, and embedding a proactive safety culture. You’ll be at the heart of operations—partnering with teams on the ground to ensure health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) excellence is not just met, but continuously improved.
What you’ll be doing:
Championing Safety Strategy
Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.
- Align day-to-day operations with wider HSEQ goals
- Support teams in applying safety frameworks and best practices in real-world settings
Driving Standards & Communication
- Stay ahead of legislation and industry developments
- Create clear, practical safety briefings and procedures that teams can rely on
Leading Incident Insight
- Support investigations using root cause analysis
- Help turn lessons learned into meaningful preventative actions
Supporting Learning & Capability
- Provide expert guidance on safety systems and policies
- Help operational teams confidently navigate safety processes
Ensuring Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct audits, inspections, and on-site observations
- Analyse data to spot trends and shape improvement plans
- Contribute to risk assessments and practical risk reduction strategies
What’s required
- Proven experience in a safety advisory role within operational environments
- Experience working on civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of risk management and incident investigation techniques
- Confidence in analysing data and turning insights into action
- A track record of influencing positive safety culture and driving change
- Experience working collaboratively with operational teams and subject matter experts
- Familiarity with safety systems and reporting tools
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations
- Sharp problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- NEBOSH qualification (essential)
- Full UK driving licence
