Planet Pharma is recruiting for an interim Associate Director, Commercial Operations & Customer Engagement who will lead the UK & Ireland Solid Tumours Brand Team, supporting the successful launch of a novel oncology asset across multiple indications. This role offers the chance to shape long-term commercial strategy in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the UK & Ireland Solid Tumours Brand Team to deliver successful launches across multiple indications
- Develop and execute long-term commercial strategy, brand plans, tactical plans, and marketing budgets
- Provide strong cross-functional leadership across a matrix organisation to drive performance
- Design and deliver clear, differentiated marketing strategies aligned with customer needs and insights
- Partner with Business Analytics to define KPIs, generate market insights, and inform forecasting
- Lead development of key marketing deliverables including brand plans, tactical programmes, and market research
- Ensure effective omnichannel strategy execution based on customer segmentation, preferences, and feedback loops
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and partners
- Represent the organisation at key UK, Ireland, and European meetings and conferences
Commercial & Financial Leadership
- Own financial planning and budget management; monitor performance and address variances
- Manage expenses within budget and deliver targeted profit contribution
- Align local execution with regional and global franchise strategies
- Drive business decisions with patient centricity at the core
Governance, Culture & Compliance
- Ensure compliance across all GxP areas and uphold the highest ethical standards
- Operate in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards of conduct
- Contribute to culture, people development, and business initiatives aligned with organisational mission and values
About You
- Proven commercial leader with strong exposure to commercial operations, including sales, marketing, analytics, insights, and sales force effectiveness
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong collaborator with the ability to influence cross-functional and senior stakeholders
- Confident engaging with both scientific and commercial audiences
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced qualification (e.g. CIM, MBA, MA, PhD) is an advantage
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing or related commercial roles
- Minimum 3 years’ oncology sales and/or marketing experience (PD‑L1 experience strongly preferred)
- Experience launching products in the UK & Ireland market highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to build impactful relationships with KOLs and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial insights
- Strong capability in strategic thinking, execution, collaboration, and delivering results
