Associate Building Surveyor    Are you a commercially minded Building Surveyor ready to take the next step and grow a service offering?   This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership, influence strategic direction and build a building surveying function around your strengths and ambitions.   I am partnering with a multi-disciplinary property consultancy, is looking to appoint an Associate Building Surveyor into a key role within its Midlands team.   You’ll be joining a collaborative environment delivering a broad range of services across land and property. The business offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-quality projects, while retaining a supportive, close-knit culture where your contribution will have real visibility and impact.   The Role This is a great mix of leadership and hands-on delivery, giving you the chance to shape and grow a building surveying function while still being involved in the professional work.   You’ll play a key role in:

  • Leading and developing the building surveying offering over the long term
  • Spotting opportunities for growth and bringing in new business
  • Advising clients across a mix of commercial and residential portfolios
  • Making sure everything is compliant with regulations, health & safety and environmental standards
  • Supporting and mentoring the team to help them develop
  • Building strong client relationships and growing your network across the Midlands

  Alongside the strategic side, you’ll still be actively involved in delivering a wide range of professional and project work.   What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering core building surveying services including dilapidations, technical due diligence and acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, planned preventative maintenance schedules and party wall work.
  • Getting involved in business development and helping grow the brand
  • Bringing in new ideas, whether that’s digital tools or smarter ways of working
  • Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including planners, engineers and architects

  About You

  • MRICS qualified
  • Strong background across both professional and project-led building surveying work
  • Commercially aware and keen to help grow a service
  • Confident dealing with clients and building relationships
  • Solid understanding of building regulations and legislation
